Borderlands Series / Google Drive and Save Files
« Last post by switang on October 18, 2014, 06:33:55 am »
Ended up moving my Borderlands 1.5 save data folder to my Google Drive managed folder and just create a symbolic link to the folder under the original save location. Automatic revisioning :)

I believe Drive will limit the number of revisions, but probably high enough not to be concerned with.

Settled on:

3570K
8GB Crucial 1866
XFX 280X
840 Pro 256GB
cheap (on sale) mobo: Biostar TZ77A

Total $914.38, yikes! Just added that up.

Had 165$ in AMZ rewards/gift so not too bad.

I may go windows 8.1...

General Discussion / TestDisk (File Recovery)

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

I used this today to restore 100 or so raw files from one of my dad's compact flash cards that the partition table got trashed somehow.

I already had dumped the disk to file using dd on a linux machine, but this has a photo recovery exe that found them all for me. Saved me a lot of time.

If I read correctly, seems like the 3570k is still the i5 of choice. I was hoping the FX-8350 would be a better performer. Seems like the 20 extra bucks on the lntel might be worth it. Although, if I can spend less on the CPU/mobo then put that into a better GPU.

All I know is that I'm buying Crucial...
